ABOUT

Austin's Gathering Place

We exist to celebrate this city and connect people with what makes it remarkable

FOUNDED

Your Tamworth adventure starts here

Every good adventure needs a great place to start.

At Austin Tourist Park, we're an independently operated, family-owned tourist park in Tamworth, NSW, offering cabins, powered caravan and camping sites, and unpowered camping for travellers exploring Tamworth, the New England region and beyond.

We've been welcoming travellers since 1982, so while we know our little patch beside the Peel River pretty well, our knowledge doesn't stop at the park gates.

Our team includes some pretty seasoned adventurers. Want to know what to see while you're in Tamworth? We can help. Wondering whether there's a more interesting way to get to your next destination than following the highway? Ask us. Looking for somewhere to explore, a great day trip or some local knowledge before you hit the road?

You've come to the right place. After all, adventure has been part of Austin from the very beginning.

Our History

Back in 1982, Austin Tourist Park wasn't Austin Tourist Park at all. It started with six power boxes, very few taps and a lot of work.

This is on the river and has really nice grassy sites as well as slabs. Clean and tidy. Great pool and staff very friendly. They even let you choose your site. You can also have a small above ground fire
