Tamworth Caravan Club: Andy Wood Annual Award for "Best Club Member" (2020)
We're particularly proud that some of the recognition we've received hasn't simply been about facilities or accommodation. It's been about what happens when people need people.
When COVID disrupted travel in 2020, our relationship with the Tamworth Caravan Club saw Austin recognised with its Andy Wood Annual Award for being there when the club needed us. We're proud to remain patrons of the club.
Then came January 2022.
With the Tamworth Country Music Festival postponed at short notice due to COVID, we decided to do something a little different.
We created the Austin Country Music Festival.
Twenty artists took to our stage, and we worked with five local volunteer organisations that had already purchased supplies for events planned during the festival period, helping give them an opportunity to put those supplies to use.
That effort earned Austin Tourist Park the 2022 G'day Parks Game Changer Award.
But the award isn't really the bit of that story we remember most.
It's what can happen when a community gets together, has a go and finds a different way forward.
